Nicole Unice :: speaker, writer, counselor

Quirky FAQ's

It seems a bit silly to write about myself in the third person. It’s not like I have an entourage of staff following my every move, although I must admit, someone to keep track of my keys, cell phone and toddler would be an excellent addition to my life. So for the sake of honesty, I am just Q & A’ing with myself. But hey, if I was looking to hire a speaker for my next event, these are the things I’d want to know.

Are you a good speaker?
Well, that’s a good question. It wouldn’t be much fun to have a speaker that isn’t good at speaking. I’ve come to believe, through much encouragement and support, that God has given me the ability to communicate his truth in a relevant and meaningful way for women. This has been confirmed through my counseling, teaching, as well as by others who have graciously offered their constructive feedback. Teaching is something that I love to do, and I welcome the opportunity, no matter what the venue.

Can I hear you?
Yes, I was a cheerleader through college, so I really know how to project. Ha! Actually, you can listen to some of my talks on YouTube.   Another way to get a feel for my style is to read or subscribe to my blog. I’m pretty much the same in person as I am in writing. I’d like to think I”m sassy (maybe sarcastic, just a bit) and real.

What do you like?
I have many, many passions in life. They would best be summed up in this perfect afternoon: There would be a race at the mall. In the race, teams of women would compete to find the perfect stylish outfit for the best price. They would be required to run from store to store, while pushing a double stroller. Afterward, the friends would all drink lattes together and talk about their life and dreams and how they see God moving in this world. That combines pretty much all my passions.

What don’t you like?
Well, I like a lot of things. But one thing I hate: when the windshield wipers in a car are going much faster than the moisture outside requires, and they make that horrid screeching noise. I also hate static in a radio station that should have been changed miles ago. If I’m riding in a car with you, I’m likely to trick you into looking out the window so I can tamper with your wipers and radio.

What about payment?
My first payment for a speaking engagement was a dozen bagels. My payment has ranged from hugs and kisses to a actual honorariums. Contact me if you are interested in my teaching. The rest? God (and you and me) will work it out!
